AH, WHAT NERDS WE BE...

Tue Nov 10, 2009, 8:03 PM
Pfft, I was bored and feeling in a Forgotten Realms mood, so I posted the following entries on my FaceBook profile, to see if anyone would say anything. No one did until the third entry, but the conversation between me and my aunt Charlene that followed was pretty dang humorous!
(1)
Well, I'm off to the Underdark! With any luck, I'll be able to actually get past the guards without getting caught this time... *grumbles* Freakin' dark elves with their freakin' good hearing...
(2)
Hahahaha! Beat my previous record! Got 5 steps past the guards before they noticed me, that’s two more than last time! GTG, hauling @$$ to get away from the superior-to-me-in-every-way dark elf guards! XD
(3)
Note to self: when dealing with dark elves, sunlight is, for the most part, your friend! Gotta find a town... It’ll be night soon, and doubtless those drow are still looking for me. Watch out for spiders, tho, those vile little things’ll rat you out in a heartbeat. *is paranoid*

Aunt Charlene: NEVER trust an arachnid.... and drow are ok, as long as you dont have something they want... or talk to them.... or get in their way..... ok, maybe getting away is the best idea.. But know what works good against a drow when you have no sunlight? A DWARF....

Holly Newell: ROFL An image just popped into my head of someone chucking Gimli at a group of charging drow.

Aunt Charlene: that is ALWAYS an option, but I know most of 'em have magical tricks hidden on 'em somewhere, so they can figure out how to defend while you run for your life!

Holly Newell: "BAHAHAHA YOU DROW WILL NEVER CATCH ME! NEVE--*trips on a mushroom**faceplant* ". . .crap."

Aunt Charlene: and there is the horror movie influence.... you looked back, didn't you? <grin>

Holly Newell: Yup... apparently mushrooms in the Underdark can move on their own. But no worries, mate! Drizzt will be here any second now! . . . Aaany second now. . .
*Elsewhere* Drizzt: Is anyone else getting the feeling that we're supposed to be somewhere right now? Like in the Underdark or something?

Aunt Charlene: <laughing hysterically> before you know it hon, you're gonna need Red Myst to come fly you out.... after all, a red dragon trumps 'em all..... of course, you have to REWARD us...

Holly Newell: Erm, let's see... reward, reward, reward... um... I have a really shiny rock! Does that count? *nerdy hopeful grin*

Aunt Charlene: SHINY????? Oooooh, I like shiny.... gold is better, but shiny goes good with my decorations... how about I take your shiny and you owe me gold......

Holly Newell: Ok! *grabs sword* I'm gonna borrow this, k? I swear I'll bring it back! Now I gots TREASURE to find! *runs off to find my assassin buddy Amanda*

Well, Halloween...

Sun Nov 1, 2009, 4:57 PM
...kinda sucked this year. By 8:30, almost everyone was apparently out of candy, and not a lot of people seemed to be in the Halloween spirit anyway! I actually think I had more fun last year just sitting in the driveway, giving out candy and scaring people.
I think the only upside was that a lot of people liked my Plague Doctor costume. (even if they didn't know what I was.)^^

Oh, well... On to Christmas! 8D

Twisted XD

Wed Sep 30, 2009, 4:19 PM
When I get "obsessed" with more than one thing at a time, my brain spits out these freaky, obsession-crossed characters... like a girl who thinks she's a bat winds up trapped in an asylum haunted by Egyptian gods. Or a Skeksis-like creature (Dark Crystal) winds up working for Cad Bane, the bounty hunter (Star Wars).
I dunno. That's just the way my brain works...

Oh, and those of you who like anything having to do with Egypt: GO WATCH "TUTENSTEIN". NOW. IT'S FUNNY AND VERY ACCURATE AS FAR AS EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY GOES. Here's a link to the first episode: [link]

Overwhelmed

Mon Sep 28, 2009, 11:27 AM
Well, today my Student Success class went to the Career Center over at my college. The lady wasn't even halfway through her presentation when I started to feel overwhelmed: there is SO MUCH stuff to keep track of! So after class I went home, still feeling stressed, and sat down for about an hour to think.
I came to this conclusion: I do love bats, but I have so many other interests, that I'm afraid I would eventually want to do something else. And then it hit me: a few months ago, my mom had suggested library sciences as a possible major. Until now, I'd forgotten about it, but the more I think about it, I realize that's probably a great major for me. I love reading, I'm a very organized person when it comes to books (mine are all arranged on my bookshelf according to size XD) and what better place to learn more about my many interests than a library?
So I feel quite a bit more relaxed now that I have a definite direction I can start towards.
